Highlighting the importance of preserving the culture and tradition, Prof Mahavir Singh, Vice Chancellor(VC), Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla said, “Our culture is our identity and preserving it is our responsibility.”

He was addressing the students during a cultural programme titled ‘Envision-2026’ which was organised at the University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS) on Tuesday. The VC served as the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking during the event, the VC urged the students to remain deeply connected to their cultural roots. He also talked about the growing relevance of legal education in the rapidly evolving era of modern technology.

Concluding his address, the VC congratulated the institute for successfully organising the event.

More than 200 students participated in various competitions and performances including Bhangra, Nati, Western dance, open mic, modelling, solo dance, duet dance and calligraphy.

Institute Director Professor Shiv Kumar Dogra, welcomed all the guests and congratulated the students who participated in the competitions. He also expressed his gratitude to the university’s administration and the organising committee for their support.

Apart from this, winners of two-day annual sports competition ‘Daksh-2026’ were also honoured during the event.
