
Humanities students dominated the CBSE Class 12 board examination results in Ludhiana district, with several students from city schools securing above 99 per cent.
Hirdeyroop Kaur, a student of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, emerged among the top scorers in the district by securing 99.6 per cent in the Humanities stream. She scored a perfect 100 in Physical Education, Fashion Studies, Music and Mass Media, besides scoring 98 in English.
Sharing her future plans, Hirdeyroop said she aims to pursue higher education from SD College affiliated to Panjab University and wishes to become a fashion journalist.
“Love for fashion and my interest in writing inspired me to choose this field. I have also been involved in professional photography for a long time,” she said.
Hirdeyroop, who was the photography head and head girl of the school during the previous academic session, said she preferred studying during the night to avoid distractions. She also credited her brother, international cyclist Divjot Singh, for motivating her to dream big.
Another Humanities student from DAV BRS Nagar, Harnoor Badesha, secured 99.4 per cent with perfect scores in English, Psychology, Mass Communication and Fashion Design, besides scoring 97 in Economics.
Harnoor said she focused more seriously on academics after Class X and devoted nearly 12 to 13 hours daily towards exam preparation. Interested in fashion designing and dancing, she now aspires to become an organisational psychologist.
Meanwhile, Savroop Kaur from Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, scored 99 per cent in Commerce stream.
In the Commerce stream, Prathna Dhawan from DAV BRS Nagar secured 99.2 per cent with a perfect 100 in Accountancy and English. She said self-study and solving previous years’ question papers played a major role in her success.
“I did not follow a strict routine, but I consistently practised previous years’ papers and relied on self-study along with guidance from teachers,” she said.
Prathna, who had earlier secured 97 per cent in Class 10, now aims to become an Income Tax Inspector.
Among other notable achievers, Nivedita Karakoti of the Medical stream from Police DAV Public School scored 98.2 per cent, while Pearpreet Kaur from BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, also secured 98.2 per cent. In the Non-Medical stream, Anahat Kaur of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, scored 98.2 per cent.
At Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Kitchlu Nagar, Shivansh Bhardwaj topped the Non-Medical stream with 98.2 per cent, while Karan Sehgal secured 97.6 per cent in Commerce. Tvisha emerged as the Medical stream topper with 87.6 per cent.
Meanwhile, Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, maintained its tradition of academic excellence with a 100 per cent result. Anamika Tiwari emerged as the school topper in Commerce stream with 95.2 per cent.
