Farah Aqilah shares the final WhatsApp message her husband sent before he was killed in a crash involving more than 30 motorcycles and a car at KM246.4 of the East Coast Expressway (LPT) towards Kemaman.

KUANTAN – A WhatsApp message from her husband showing a photo of the fried rice he had ordered was the last communication they shared before she received news that he had been killed in a crash involving more than 30 motorcycles and a car at KM246.4 of the East Coast Expressway (LPT) towards Kemaman early on Saturday.

Farah Aqilah Mohamad Nazri, 30, said her husband, Muhammad Hafiz Al Hakim Mazlan, 33, did not contact her again after sending the photo.

"At about 1am, I received a phone call. I thought it was my husband.

"Instead, it was the wife of one of his friends, informing me that he had been involved in an accident on the LPT1," she said when met at the Forensic Department of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital (HTAA) here on Saturday.

Muhammad Hafiz Al Hakim's body was claimed by his family at about 12.25pm before being transported by a hearse to a mosque for funeral arrangements.

Farah said she was devastated after learning that her husband was among the four people killed in the crash.

"The last time we met was before he left home on Friday evening.

"He only told me he was going to Kuantan with his friends. I already knew about the plan because he had mentioned a few days earlier that he wanted to have a meal at a famous restaurant there," she said.
