RANAU: The Mount Kinabalu Search and Rescue Team (Mosar) was once again called to rescue a 29-year-old man who suffered an injury while descending Mount Kinabalu.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Ranau Station Chief Ridwan Mohd Talib said the incident happened at Km 8 on Mount Kinabalu, at 9.30am, on Friday.
He said 10 personnel, including eight from Mosar, were deployed to the scene.
“The climber who suffered an injury in the right ankle, which was swollen, and could not walk, was brought down using the ‘piggyback carry’ method and then to Timpohon Gate using a Robertson stretcher,” he said.
Ridwan said the victim was then handed over to EMRS personnel and sent to the Ranau Hospital for further treatment.
According to him, the incident was the first case for September and the 47th on Mount Kinabalu thus far this year.
