Prince Harry is set to make a television appearance on James Corden's Fox programme After Hours in the coming weeks, with the World Cup set to be the main topic of conversation.

Mr Corden revealed the news during a recent episode while seated alongside football legends including Rio Ferdinand, as the panel ranked famous individuals named Harry.

"Prince Harry is coming on the show in a few weeks' time, and we'll discuss this then," the host announced.

GB News has contacted the Duke of Sussex's spokesman for comment.

This anticipated TV appearance comes shortly before Harry is due to travel to Britain for an event marking one year until the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

However, the duke is engulfed in an escalating row with the UK Government over security arrangements for his mid-July visit.

Harry submitted an official request for police protection, as has become routine for his returns to Britain, but this has been refused.

A spokesman for the duke told GB News on Monday: “Prince Harry’s programme in the United Kingdom includes both public and private engagements across the country.

“Safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place.

“The issue has never been accommodation. The issue is whether appropriate and proportionate protective security is being provided throughout the entirety of the visit.

“The independent Risk Management Board that RAVEC itself decided was necessary last November has still not taken place.

“It is therefore difficult to understand how the proportionality of the current arrangements can credibly be maintained without that independent assessment.

“The Duke continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK.”

The security dispute has thrown plans for a family trip into doubt, with suggestions that Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet may no longer accompany him as originally intended.

The King has offered his son accommodation at a royal residence for the upcoming visit, but GB News understands that the Royal Household has not received a formal acceptance.

However, Harry's team has made clear that lodging is not the central concern.

Sources close to the Sussexes have painted a picture of a man in distress over the situation.

The duke's desire to bring his wife and children to his homeland has been complicated by fears for their safety without taxpayer-funded security.
