Joe Rogan does not think the return of Floyd Mayweather is about unfinished business or competition – he sees it as a way to keep the money coming in.
Earlier this week, Mayweather revealed he would be returning to boxing in 2026 after several years away from the ring.
Soon after, Netflix revealed that ‘Money’ will be stepping back into the ring against Manny Pacquiao for a rematch.
The fight is set for September 19 at The Sphere in Las Vegas, with Mayweather’s perfect 50-0 record officially on the line.
And although many fans are thrilled about the long-awaited rematch, Rogan is not convinced it is being done for the right reasons.
Joe Rogan says money problems are driving Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2

Back in 2015, their bout set new standards for success in the fight game, breaking pay-per-view and gate records along the way.
Recently, reports have emerged that Mayweather is dealing with legal issues over bounced cheques linked to unpaid rent and damages on a $24 million penthouse in Manhattan.
‘Money’ has never been shy about his extravagant lifestyle, often showcasing it throughout his career.
That is one reason why UFC commentator Rogan doubts the reasons behind Mayweather’s comeback against Pacquiao, calling the situation ‘crazy’.
On his podcast, the UFC commentator said: “Now they’re gonna do it again and they’re both 50, it’s crazy.
“Yeah, I’m gonna watch it, f— yeah I’m gonna watch it. I’m gonna watch him fighting Mike (Tyson), I think that’s crazy.”
The undefeated boxer has also lined up an exhibition bout against Mike Tyson in the Congo, though no official date has been set for that event yet.
“Look at Floyd, Floyd spends money like it’s a tap, like he’s got a tap with an unlimited amount of money and even as much money as he’s made in his career, which he’s probably made as much, if not more than any boxer ever, there’s all these lawsuits.
“He hasn’t been paying things and he owes money on this and owes money on that and it’s like, now he’s got to come out of retirement,” Rogan concluded.
Floyd Mayweather initially aimed to keep his unblemished record
Though Mayweather is set to return at 49 years old, he did not make the decision lightly.
Initially, ‘Money’ wanted to set up an exhibition match rather than a full professional bout, but Pacquiao declined the proposal.
‘PacMan’ made it clear that his motivation was to go down as the only man who ever handed Mayweather a loss in his professional career.
