MANILA, Philippines — Gilas Pilipinas star Justin Brownlee was in attendance at the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference match between Creamline and Galeries, and later on shared his support and message for all women this women's month.
Coming off a hectic week after a 0-2 finish in the second window of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, the 37-year-old forward was enjoying the action and athletic display of the 10-time league champions Creamline against Galeries.
“It's just good. It's just good to be back. I love volleyball and the PVL. I think it's been a good time to come and see Creamline. I’m enjoying it so far,” he said on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City with Phoenix import James Dickey.
The last time that Brownlee watched a PVL match was on March 14, 2024, where he professed his admiration for high-flying gunner Sisi Rondina.
Now back after two years, the Brgy. Ginebra star also shared a message for all women athletes making their own names in their respective sports.
“You know, just go out there and be you. You know, I think that's very important for you. Obviously, for women, just be you and whatever that goal, whatever that brings to the table, just be you and try to be positive,” he said as March is women’s month.
While Brownlee has made lofty contributions to Philippine basketball, he has also made playful banter while trying to play a new sport.
“I’ve tried beach volleyball, things like that. But not really on the team as far as on the hardwood. But I definitely could try it if my knees hold up,” he shared. Brownlee now gears up for the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup, scheduled to tip off on March 11, 2026.
