
Kota Kinabalu: A 39-year-old man who was just released from prison for causing hurt his father, was jailed two years for burning his father’s belongings.
Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus also fined Mohd Kim Assaanal Aswadillah Shah Akim RM5,000 in default six months’ jail.
Mohd Kim pleaded guilty to committing mischief by burning his father’s items at 9pm on May 27 at a house in Kg Pirasan, Kota Belud.
Among the things he burnt were bags containing clothes, pillows, mattress and bed.

The court ordered Mohd Kim to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest on May 27.
During mitigation, Mohd Kim who was not represented, asked for leniency.
But Deputy Public Prosecutor Mas Izzaty Lokman urged the court to impose a deterrent sentence.
She informed the court that Mohd Kim was just released from prison after serving a year’s jail sentence for hitting his father.
The court heard that on the day of the incident, Mohd Kim went berserk and burnt the items belonging to his father.
Mohd Kim’s sister, 16, who witnessed the incident, urged her father to lodge a police report and Mohd Kim was subsequently arrested.
