Kota Kinabalu: The City Islamic Cultural Arts Festival (KK i-Fest) 2023 will be held from March 10 to 12.
Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip said one of its main attractions is the use of Virtual Reality (VR) technology to show the atmosphere of the trip from Madinah to Makkah in Arafah in collaboration with Sabah.net.
“This programme at Padang Merdeka will be graced by several preaching celebrities, including Okie Setiana Dewi, Das’ ad Latiff, Habib Nael Ben Tahir and PU Azihal Bangsawan.
“KK i-Fest aims to enliven the atmosphere of the month of Ramadan with a variety of programmes such as religious lectures, forums, archery, clothing sales, free market and Rasulullah head competition.
“In addition, a calligraphy competition will be held and 70 entries have so far been received from schoolchildren,” she said after paying a courtesy call on Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Seri Kinabalu, here.
Juhar also received a courtesy call from the Sabah Islamic Unification Organisation, led by its President Datuk Nani Sakam.
The purpose was to introduce the committee members of the organisation established in 2017 and has over 1,000 members.
