SHAH ALAM – Ejae, the singer who provided the singing voice for Rumi in Netflix’s hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters, has married her longtime partner, music producer Sam Kim, in Seoul, South Korea.
The couple tied the knot on Saturday (Oct 17), with wedding photos shared on social media on Tuesday alongside fashion magazine Vogue.
According to Vogue, the ceremony was held at Stage 28, a venue built on the site of Ejae’s grandparents’ former home, giving the occasion a personal connection to her childhood.
Ejae, whose real name is Kim Eun-jae, met Sam in 2017 during a songwriting session before their professional relationship developed into a romance.
Sam proposed to her in June 2025 at a park in Brooklyn, New York.
Among the guests were Rei Ami and Audrey Nuna, who provided the singing voices for Zoey and Mira, respectively, in KPop Demon Hunters.
Their friend Andrew Choi, who provided the singing voice for Jinu, officiated the ceremony.
Before gaining international recognition, Ejae trained under South Korean entertainment company SM Entertainment before pursuing songwriting and music production.
She went on to write and produce songs for K-pop acts including Red Velvet and Aespa.
Her career reached a wider audience in 2025 through KPop Demon Hunters, in which she voiced Rumi’s singing parts and co-wrote and performed “Golden”.
The song went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media in 2026.
