
Kota Kinabalu: The “Love KK” Component Committee has achieved an impressive result, surpassing the goal of achieving 100 per cent of the objectives.
“This has had a good influence on the stakeholders and Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu (DBKK),” said DBKK Director-General Junainah Abbie, in a statement, Tuesday.
She said the achievement was recorded since it was inaugurated in April 2022 until the end of this year, based on the approach through the seven component committees in the “Love KK” programme.
Clean KK, Green KK, Vibrant KK, Beautiful KK, Heritage KK, Liveable KK and Healthy KK are some of the components.

A number of events were held to celebrate the creation of the “Love KK” Committee, such as the Sheila Majid Big Band Show, Miss World Malaysia 2023 and the opening of the Bandaran Night Market.
Additionally, in connection with the November 19 World Public Toilet Day celebration, DBKK launched the Clean Public Toilet programme, which includes the Dialogue Programme with Entrepreneurs and Owners of Public Toilets, Auditing and Star Rating of Public Toilets.
“Love KK” also conducted inspections, implemented Cleanliness Grading of Food Premises around the city and staged a Cultural Festival and Traditional Indian Food Fair.
The popularity of “Love KK” did not end there; in addition to launching the “My City, My Responsibility” awareness campaign, it also hosted an awareness programme.
“DBKK hopes that through this initiative, city residents can take advantage of the existing opportunities to serve and thus contribute to the City of Kota Kinabalu,” she said.
"This is an inspiration and initiative to encourage the participation of Kota Kinabalu City residents from all walks of life in community activities in Kota Kinabalu City,” she added.
