LTdL: Six major roads in Sepang to close on Sunday, alternative routes provided

SHAH ALAM, Oct 2 - Six major roads in Sepang will be closed in stages this Sunday (October 4) to make way for the final stage of the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) Malaysia cycling race.

Sepang district police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman said the closures will take place from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, covering routes from the Sepang-Nilai border to the Sepang-Putrajaya border.

“The six affected routes are Jalan Labohan Dagang-Nilai, Jalan Jenderam-Salak, Jalan Banting-Semenyih, the Simpang Empat Dengkil traffic lights, the Jalan Dengkil-Putrajaya Bypass, and Jalan Persiaran Selatan.

“Road users are advised to plan their journeys or use alternative routes to avoid congestion during the road closures,” he said in a statement.

Norhizam added that the final stage of the LTdL on Sunday will enter the Sepang area, covering 24.5km with 120 cyclists taking part.

Sepang police, with help from Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) enforcement officers and the Sepang District and Land Office, will implement road closures and diversions.

“Officers and personnel from the Sepang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division, personnel from nearby police stations, and MPSepang enforcement officers will be stationed at the affected locations to control traffic and ensure the safety of road users,” he said.

As alternative routes, road users travelling from Dengkil to Kota Warisan can use Jalan Kampung Sungai Melut, while those travelling from Bangi towards the north or south can use the PLUS Expressway via the Southville City Toll Plaza in Dengkil.

Road users travelling from Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, Banting, Nilai and Kota Warisan to Kuala Lumpur can use the ELITE Expressway via the Serenia City Toll Plaza.

However, traffic travelling from Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya to KLIA and KLIA2 will not be affected.

In a related development, five screening points will also be set up on Sunday to inspect vehicles heading to the Sepang International Circuit for the 2026 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix Malaysia Formula One, including routes from the KLIA Toll Plaza and KLIA 1 towards Jalan Pekeliling.
