A man in his 70s was arrested after allegedly attacking his wife with a parang following an argument over the television volume at their home in Taman Desa Sejahtera, Kota Tinggi.

According to The Star, Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Yusof Othman said police were alerted by members of the public at about 9.30pm on Saturday, Sept 5, after a woman was found injured and bleeding at the house.

Following the report, police dispatched a team to the scene and arrested the local man, who is the victim’s husband,” he said in a statement on Sunday, Sept 6.

According to a statement published on Facebook, initial investigations found that the couple, both in their 70s, had gotten into a misunderstanding after the wife increased the television volume.

Police said the husband, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time, then attacked his wife with a parang.
