MADANI tickets from RM200 for the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang have sold out, with strong demand reported among Malaysians

TEMERLOH: The MADANI tickets, priced from RM200 for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from Oct 2 to 4, have sold out, Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said.

He said SIC reported strong demand for the tickets among Malaysians after sales were opened.

“The MADANI tickets have sold out as of today, but we will look into whether additional (MADANI) tickets can be made available if there is a need. We will announce any developments from time to time,” he said.

He told reporters this after officiating at the closing ceremony of Innovation Development Through Educational Activities (iDEA’26) and the 2026 East Zone education and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) roadshow by the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ Skills Training Institutions (ILKBS) at Dewan Tun Razak here.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Taufiq said iDEA’26 was not simply an innovation competition, but an avenue for TVET students to nurture their ideas, creativity and expertise and turn them into innovations with commercial potential in local, ASEAN and international markets.

“Their products should go beyond winning competitions and be brought to market. We will assess how they can be further developed and improved before being marketed nationwide,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the Ministry of Youth and Sports was advancing the national TVET agenda through 12 memoranda of understanding signed by skills training institutions and industry partners, aimed at expanding employment opportunities for young people.

“That is the aim of iDEA’26, to develop innovations, create marketable products and nurture new talent, rather than simply win competitions,” he said.
