Federal safety officials in the United States have announced recalls affecting two consumer products sold online through Amazon, citing risks that could lead to serious injury or death. The recalls involve children’s dining chairs and resistance bands used for home exercise.

The action was announced on 21 May by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which urged consumers to stop using the affected products immediately and follow recall instructions issued by the companies involved.

The recalls concern around9,700 PandaEar portable hook-on chairs and about 700 HomeProGym resistance bands. In both cases, no injuries have been reported, although incidents linked to product failure have been recorded for one of the products.

PandaEar Hook-on Chairs Recalled over Fall Hazard

One of the recalls covers PandaEar portable hook-on chairs designed for infants and toddlers to sit at a dining table. According to the CPSC, the products do not comply with the mandatory federal safety standard for portable hook-on chairs.

The agency stated that the chairs’ crotch restraints can be removed without the use of a tool. This creates an opening through which a child could fall, creating what the regulator described as a deadly fall hazard.

The recall applies to two models: Model C2102 and Model BTC-51. The products include a black or grey metal frame with fabric seating available in black, grey or blue with a dinosaur design. Two metal arms attach the chair to a table surface, and “Panda Ear” appears on a stitched label. Model C2102 is also identified on a label fixed to the bottom of the seat. According to recall information published by the CPSC, approximately 9,700 units were sold on Amazon.com between February 2022 and November 2025 at a price of about$25.

Consumers have been instructed to stop using the chairs immediately and contact PandaEar for a full refund. To complete the process, customers are asked to disassemble the product, cut the restraint straps and fabric seat, and submit photographs showing the destroyed item and model label. The CPSC said no incidents or injuries had been reported at the time of the recall notice.

HomeProGym Resistance Bands Linked to Detachment Reports

A separate recall affects HomeProGym resistance bands sold as part of several multi-band exercise sets and bundles. According to the CPSC, the affected resistance bands can forcefully separate from their handles during use, creating an impact hazard that could result in serious injury.

The recall applies only to the purple 60-pound resistance bands and grey 70-pound resistance bands sold under the “HOME PRO GYM” brand and marked with either “ULTRA” or “ULTRA PLUS”. The latex bands include silver metal D-rings attached to black straps.

The products were sold through HomeProGym’s website and Amazon.com between December 2025 and April 2026, with retail prices ranging from$40 to $296 depending on the set. According to the recall notice, the company received five reports of bands separating from their handles. No injuries were reported.

Consumers have been advised to stop using the recalled bands immediately and contact HomeProGym for either a full refund or a $50 store credit. Customers are asked to cut the affected bands in half, submit photographic evidence and dispose of the destroyed products. Other bands included in the sets are not part of the recall and may continue to be used.
