MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang assured the public that the government was taking all necessary precautions to safeguard national interests and ensure transparency in the upcoming Pax Silica initiative, a framework agreement between the Philippines and the United States set to be signed in November.
During a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro emphasized that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. was committed to protecting the welfare of Filipinos and ensuring that the project complied with Philippine laws.
“The president assures that everything he does is in accordance with the law, and there will be no displacement of communities,” she said.
