PETALING JAYA: A man alleged to have provoked a scuffle during the National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday has tested positive for cannabis.
Putrajaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Aidi Sham Mohamed said a urine test detected THC in the 30-year-old suspect.
He said investigations were also being conducted under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“A urine test found that the suspect tested positive for THC, and investigations are also being conducted under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“The application for the suspect’s remand under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been granted,” he told Kosmo! today.
Aidi Sham confirmed that police arrested the man after he turned himself in at the Putrajaya District Police Headquarters at 12.15am today.
He said police had received five reports in connection with the alleged provocation during the National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.
“A total of seven witness statements have been recorded,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing.
