KOTA BELUD: A 23-year-old local man was found dead inside a room of an unnumbered house here on Monday.
District police chief Supt Khairul Shah Peri said police received a report about the incident at around 4.20pm.
Preliminary investigations found the man hanging inside the room. A medical officer from Kota Belud Hospital later confirmed his death.
The body was taken to the hospital’s Forensic Unit for a post-mortem. Police said no criminal element was found so far.
Police are continuing investigations to determine the actual cause of death. The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR).
Police advised the public not to speculate about the incident as it could affect the investigation.
