Tuaran: A 41-year-old man was injured after two vehicles were involved in a road accident near the Big Food factory at Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) last night.
The incident occurred at about 9.35pm, with the Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station receiving an emergency call through the NG999 system before deploying a team to the scene.
Tuaran Fire and Rescue Station operations commander PBK I Wilfred Sulai said the accident involved a Proton Preve and a Toyota Hilux, with the victim found unconscious in the passenger seat of the Proton Preve when firefighters arrived at about 9.58pm.
He said firefighters provided initial treatment to the victim before extricating him from the vehicle and handing him over to Health Ministry personnel for further treatment at a hospital.
The operation ended at 10.22pm after a final inspection found no further hazards at the scene, with 10 firefighters and other agencies, including the police and Health Ministry personnel, involved.
