
Kota Kinabalu: An unemployed man was jailed 12 months and fined RM2,000 or another two months jail on Friday for stealing an android player and dash cam at a shop.
Awangku Jufaiz Abd Ghani, 24, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to stealing an android player and 360 camera at Jaya Automart Accessory Shop, Putatan Grand Plaza, at 12.40pm on July 29.
The court was informed by the prosecution that Jufaiz entered the premises on the pretext of surveying dash cam devices in which the complainant took out a dash cam, android player and 360 camera.
The android player and camera were then placed at the counter for payment.

Jufaiz then fled with the devices without paying.
He was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to 10 years and liability of a fine, on conviction.
In another case, a 30-year-old man was fined RM25 or a day’s jail for behaving in a threatening manner towards his mother and disturbing the peace.
Md Salim Lamdin admitted to committing the offence by going berserk and throwing a plastic flower pot towards his mother at 8.30pm on July 30, in a house at Kg Tanjung Aru Lama.
He was charged under Section 8(1)(e) of the Penal Code which provides for RM25 fine, on conviction.
Meanwhile, another man was also fined RM25 or a day’s jail for committing similar offence.
Braxton Shak, 26, pleaded guilty to beating Roslan Majul at 6.15pm on July 31 at Bataras Supermarket, Kolombong.
