MANILA, Philippines — Manila City Mayor Francisco "Isko" Moreno Domagoso on Thursday suspended classes at all levels in both public and private schools on Friday, August 7, due to inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon (habagat) enhanced by Tropical Depression Maymay.
Isko issued the order following the recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD).
The MCDRRMD said that the latest weather models and rainfall outlook from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicate continued rainfall on Friday, with an intensity ranging from light to moderate, at times heavy rains.
The city government advised schools to shift to Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM).
