Marcos on Duterte’s accusations: Nonsense

MALACAÑANG on Monday slammed Vice President Sara Duterte for saying the Marcos administration is "desperate" to bring her down and to grab power from her, calling her accusations “nonsense.”

In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called her to dispel the accusations made by Duterte.

“We know that almost all of this is baseless. That is precisely why the president himself described what they were saying as nonsense,” Castro said in Filipino.

"Let's repeat it: lies!" she emphasized.

Despite the continuous accusations from the vice president's camp, Malacañang maintained that the chief executive remains focused on governance rather than political feuds, dismissing allegations of targeted political maneuverings as groundless fabrications.

Castro earlier slammed Duterte, saying that she needs to enhance her defense skills to appear credible in the public eye.

“Hopefully, the vice president learns to respond to accusations against her with evidence before pointing fingers at others. She should familiarize herself with the definitions of "red herring" and "ad hominem" fallacies so she can recognize the flaws in her own arguments,” said Castro in Filipino. “We will keep repeating this so it sinks in... She needs to level up her defense skills so she can appear credible — if only for once."
