KLANG: At least four masked men armed with sledgehammers allegedly robbed a goldsmith along Jalan Tengku Kelana here today in a raid that reportedly lasted only a few minutes.
Footage of the incident has since circulated on social media, showing the suspects smashing display cases inside the premises before fleeing with the valuables.
The robbery took place in broad daylight, drawing attention due to the shop’s proximity to the Klang Selatan district police headquarters, which is reportedly about 200 metres away.
The suspects, whose identities have yet to be established, were seen wearing masks and wielding sledgehammers as they broke the display cases.
They appeared to carry out the robbery quickly before leaving the premises.
It has yet to be confirmed how much jewellery was stolen or whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Police have yet to issue an official statement on the case.
