
TAWAU: Police apprehended two local teenage boys suspected of masterminding motorcycle theft activities in the district, here, last Friday.
Tawau District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 16-year-old duo were detained at 10pm and 10.40pm, respectively.
Their arrest resulted in the discovery of a stolen motorcycle hidden beneath palm fronds at a palm oil plantation near Batu 8 Jalan Apas, as well as motorcycle rims and tyres.
He said the motorcycle is suspected to have been stolen on April 7.
He added that the duo’s arrest was made possible by police efforts, particularly in areas within the jurisdiction of the Sri Indah Police Station in dealing with motorcycle theft and crime prevention in the district.
