MANILA, Philippines — "Maymay" has been downgraded into a low pressure area (LPA) as it exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility, according to state weather bureau Pagasa (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration).
In its 5 am cyclone bulletin, the tropical low was seem 820 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela and is moving eastward at 40 kph.
Much of Luzon, however, will continue to experience heavy rainfall due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat".
Pagasa said that Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro may expect 100 to 200 millimeters of rainfall while Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, and Antique from 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies due to localized thunderstorms.
