Tropical Cyclone Maymay has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA). Still, rains would prevail over some parts of Luzon due to the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat) and the trough of Typhoon Dolphin outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), state weather bureau Pagasa said early Friday morning.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, Pagasa said that rains would prevail, particularly in Central and Southern Luzon and the western section of the Visayas due to habagat.
Metro Manila, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Antique would also have occasional rains brought about by the habagat.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands would experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of Dolphin. The rest of Luzon and Western Visayas would have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, also due to habagat.
The rest of the country would have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the LPA (formerly Maymay) was monitored at 565 kilometers east of Echague, Isabela, and Typhoon Dolphin was located 1,095 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon.
Pagasa warned of flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rain. (TMT)
