MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) suspended the Expanded Number Coding Scheme on Aug. 21, 2026, in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day, a special non-working holiday.
Number coding is automatically suspended during regular and special non-working holidays, according to MMDA.
The agency reminded motorists to plan their trips accordingly and observe traffic rules while on the road.
“Plan your trip carefully to avoid any problems on the road. Follow traffic laws and drive safely,” the agency said in Filipino.
Motorists may also contact the MMDA’s 136 Hotline in case of road-related problems.
