RANAU: Mount Kinabalu Search and Rescue Team (Mosar) acted quickly after a 49 year old woman was injured while climbing Mount Kinabalu, Tuesday.
Head of Fire and Rescue Ranau Station, PPgB Ridwan Mohd Talib said the incident happened at km 3.9 of the climbing trail at about 9.55am.
“We received a call informing about the incident and rushed a team of Mosar personnel led by Operation Officer, PBKII (KUP) Niel Thomson along with a Malim Gunung to the location situated 1 kilometer away.
“When the team arrived, they found a woman victim with a sprained ankle. Mosar gave initial treatment to the victim who was seen suffering from the pain. The victim was then brought down to Timpohon Gate using a stretcher.
She was sent to Ranau Hospital for further treatment.
The incident was the fourth in September and the 50th victim this year.
