RANAU: An 18-year-old local female became the first victim while climbing Mount Kinabalu for this year after she injured her leg Wednesday.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, PPgB Ridwan Bin Mohd Taib said the incident happened at km 2.5 of the Mount Kinabalu climbing trail, at about 3.35pm.

“Rescuers inspected the victim’s injuries, then the Mosar team together with Malim Gunung and Park SAR brought the victim down using Robinson Stretcher to Timpohon gate,” he said.

The victim was handed over to the Ambulance (KKM) to the Ranau Hospital for follow-up treatment.
