MUNTINLUPA Mayor Ruffy Biazon has endorsed a proposed ordinance requiring the establishment of free bicycle parking in the city.
Biazon said the measure seeks to ensure that malls, businesses, schools, village halls, and government offices provide safe and accessible bicycle parking facilities.
“While more people are using bicycles, we must also help ensure they have adequate and safe facilities,” Biazon said.
He said the ordinance would require designated locations to provide secure and free bicycle parking spaces that comply with clear standards on location and security once the measure is enacted.
Biazon said choosing bicycles as an alternative mode of transportation is practical and helps improve the traffic flow in the city.
