Former Olympic boxing champion sentenced to two years in case involving teenage girl Former Olympic boxing gold medalist Somluck Kamsing was sentenced to two years in prison after an appeals court overturned his attempted rape conviction but upheld his conviction for taking a minor from her guardian for sexual purposes. The case involved a 17-year-old girl he took from a bar to a hotel room in Khon Kaen in December 2023. Prosecutors accused him of attempting to rape and sexually assaulting her. He denied the charges. A trial court sentenced him in January 2025 to three years, one month and 10 days in prison. He was released on bail pending appeal. The Region 4 Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to two years without suspension and ordered an additional 80,000 baht in compensation, following 120,000 baht previously deposited with the court.
