
SHAH ALAM - Bersatu will go head-to-head with fellow PN component party Pas in four constituencies in the Negeri Sembilan state election.
Bersatu, which announced a total of 24 candidates, will also face candidates from Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) in another four constituencies, bringing the total number of seats involving contests between PN component parties to eight.
The four constituencies where Bersatu candidates will face Pas are Serting, Ampangan, Paroi and Bagan Pinang. Meanwhile, Bersatu will contest against Wawasan candidates in Klawang, Sikamat, Mambau and Gemas.
At the same time, Gerakan will field a candidate in Bukit Kepayang, while the Malaysian Indian People's Party (MIPP) will contest the Lukut seat.
Earlier, Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the party would contest the election under its own logo.
So far, Bersatu is contesting the highest number of seats among the PN component parties in the Negeri Sembilan election, with 24 candidates, followed by Pas (five), Wawasan (four) and one candidate each from Gerakan and MIPP.
