Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 caseload shot up to a new all-time high of 369 on Wednesday from 285 the day earlier.
Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the rise is attributed to an increasing positivity rate.
“The positivity rate on Wednesday was 13.32 per cent out of 3,034 test samples. The day earlier, it was 11.35 per cent out of 3,189 samples.
“As explained before this, the higher the positivity rate, the faster the virus spreads which increases the number of infections,” he said in a statement, Wednesday.
Masidi said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 91 cases, followed by Sandakan (40), Tawau (36), Tuaran (35), Putatan (34), Papar (24), Lahad Datu (17), Penampang (15) and Kuala Penyu (13).
“Only three districts did not record any new infections, namely Kunak, Nabawan and Tenom,” he added.
He said 363 out of 369 cases were category one and two infections, while two were recorded in category three, three in category four and one in category five.
No deaths or new clusters were identified.
