MANILA, Philippines — Passengers at Manila's international airport have a new lineup of dining and retail options following an expansion at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2, part of an ongoing privatization effort to modernize the congested hub.
Airport operator New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) announced the opening of five new establishments at the terminal's North Wing departure airside.
The additions include US brands Kenny Rogers Roasters and Seattle's Best Coffee on the second floor, alongside Paris Baguette, local favorite General's Lechon and Travel Hub on the mezzanine level.
The expansion converts a previously sparse post-security zone into a two level space. It features a new mezzanine dining area with glass windows overlooking the passenger gates, complete with flight information displays so travelers can monitor departures.
According to NNIC, the upgrade comes as NAIA grapples with historic passenger volume. The airport handled a record 52 million passengers in 2025, severely testing a complex originally designed to accommodate just 35 million travelers annually.
NNIC said infrastructure upgrades to boarding gates, terminal facilities, and transport access have begun translating into operational gains.
The operator reported that system-wide on-time flight performance rose to 81.09 percent between Jan. 1 and Oct. 13, 2026, up from 77.72 percent during the same periond in 2025.
