Newcastle boss Eddie Howe joked about the presence of Tino Livramento at St James' Park yesterday.
Southampton have accepted a bid from Newcastle for the wing-back.
Livramento was in the Milburn Stand for Newcastle's preseason win against Fiorentina.
Asked what the imminent signing will have learned from the day, Howe quipped: "You're very clever!
"I'm not going to answer that one."
