The mood has turned for Cristiano Ronaldo at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Widely mocked after drawing a blank for Portugal in their draw with DR Congo, the 41-year-old responded in fine fashion in his next game.

Indeed, Ronaldo scored two goals as his country flexed their muscle and thrashed Uzbekistan 5-0 in Houston.

While a lot of focus has been paid to great rival Lionel Messi amid all of his success at this year’s World Cup, Ronaldo broke yet another record with those two goals.

Now, he’s been handed some new gold boots by Nike to commemorate his recent achievement.

Those goals made more history for Ronaldo, despite all the criticism he got after the DR Congo game.

By scoring at the 2026 tournament, he became the only player to have ever found the back of the net in six World Cups.

As such, Nike have released some custom gold boots for the Al Nassr forward to wear and he was seen training in them earlier this week. The Gold Mercurial Superfly 11 CR7 Gold Scorpion will be available for pre-order in June and are expected to be shipped in October 2026.

They will cost buyers up to $320 and only 2,026 pairs will be released.

Ronaldo’s journey in the biggest competition the sport has to offer began back in 2006, when the tournament was held in Germany.

He scored once there, as well as once in South Africa four years later. Ronaldo scored once at Brazil 2014 before bagging three goals at Russia 2018 and once in Qatar in 2022.

In total, Ronaldo has scored ten goals at the World Cup, although none of them have come in the knockout stages to date.
