NU tightens grip on second place, blanks Adamson

MANILA, Philippines — The NU Lady Bulldogs blanked the Adamson Lady Falcons, 25-20, 25-21, 25-21, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on Easter Sunday to tighten their grip on the second spot of the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball standings. 

Vange Alinsug logged seven excellent receptions, three digs, and 15 points including the match-clinching ace to lead the defending champs, who elevated to 8-3 to improve their Final Four bid.

Winning two straight games, NU also created more separation from the third to fifth seed teams UST (7-4), FEU (6-4), and Adamson (6-5).

Lams Lamina tossed 20 excellent sets while Sam Cantada added 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs.

Shaina Nitura pumped 23 points and 18 receptions to pace Adamson.
