MANILA, Philippines — The Nxled Chameleons kept their slim finals aspirations alive in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference after overcoming the Farm Fresh Foxies in a four-set battle, 25-20, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, on Sunday afternoon at the Araneta Coliseum.
With the victory, Nxled improved to a 3-2 record to wrap up its elimination round campaign. To secure a spot in the finals, the Chameleons must now rely on external results—needing either a loss from Creamline (3-1) against PLDT (2-2) or an EST Cola (3-1) setback against Ho Chi Minh City (1-3).
Middle blocker MJ Phillips spearheaded Nxled's attack with a game-high 25 points, powered by 19 attacks, four aces, and two blocks. Jacq Acuna provided solid support with 12 markers, while playmaker Gel Cayuna smoothly ran the offense with 22 excellent sets—setting up Jonah Sabete (11 points) and Myla Pablo (10 points) in double figures.
Despite the uncertainty of their standing, Italian head coach Ettore Guidetti remained grounded during the post-game press conference, emphasizing his team's resilience over scenario outcomes.
"I think it is clear for everyone that this is a fighter team. We always try our best to bring the victory home; sometimes we succeed, sometimes we don’t. But it has always been a fierce battle for us," Guidetti said. "Now we simply have to wait. What’s going to happen is not going to change anything for us—we’re going to find a way."
Farm Fresh, on the other hand, was paced by Trisha Tubu's 20-point effort, alongside contributions from Jonna Perdido (13 points) and Ces Molina (12 points).
