
MANILA, Philippines — PLDT High Speed Hitters ended Creamline Cool Smashers’ hopes of reaching the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational finals, while Nxled secured a championship berth following a thrilling five-set showdown on Sunday night at the Araneta Coliseum.
PLDT outlasted Creamline, 25-17, 23-25, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12, in a tightly contested match that ultimately allowed Nxled to advance to the finals on set-point ratio.
Savi Davison delivered a career-best 37 points, firing 35 attacks and two blocks while also contributing 29 excellent digs and 24 excellent receptions in an impressive all-around performance.
Kianna Dy and Jovie Prado chipped in 14 points apiece for PLDT.
Creamline was led by Jaja Santiago, who finished with 25 points, while Jema Galanza added 20 markers in the losing effort.
With the semifinal results, Nxled advances to the championship round, where it will face Thailand’s EST Cola.
Creamline and PLDT, meanwhile, will meet again in the battle for the bronze medal.
