VIGAN, Ilocos Sur — The Nxled Chameleons bounced back in emphatic fashion, sweeping the Capital 1 Solar Spikers, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18, to notch their first victory in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) On Tour on Saturday at the Chavit Coliseum.
Playing without three-time Most Valuable Player Brooke Van Sickle, who is nursing a minor right shoulder injury, Nxled showed little trouble in spoiling the highly anticipated PVL debut of No. 2 overall rookie pick Detdet Pepito.
Veteran hitter Myla Pablo spearheaded the Chameleons’ offense with 17 points built on 12 attacks, four blocks, and one ace. Jonah Sabete-Escamillan backed her with 13 points, while MJ Phillips and Lyann De Guzman chipped in seven and six markers, respectively.
Capital 1, meanwhile, continued to miss the services of star spiker Bella Belen, who remains on national team duty with Alas Pilipinas.
Shaya Adorador paced the Solar Spikers with six points, while Ysa Jimenez and Trisha Genesis added five apiece as no Capital 1 player reached double figures.
The victory evened Nxled’s record at 1-1 after dropping its tournament opener to Creamline, while Capital 1 fell to 0-1.
The PVL On Tour features exhibition matches in various parts of the country. Although no team will officially be crowned champion, the squad with the best overall finish will receive the P100,000 top prize.
