SHAH ALAM – Barisan Nasional's (BN) Koh Kim Swee, better known as Ah Swee, has won the Repah state seat after defeating Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Veerapan Superamaniam in a straight fight in the Negeri Sembilan state election.

According to the official results announced by the Election Commission (EC), Ah Swee secured 9,779 votes, while Veerapan garnered 9,335 votes.

The local Repah-born candidate won the seat with a 444-vote majority, with a total of 19,114 votes cast in the constituency.

Koh's victory contributed to BN and Perikatan Nasional's (PN) success in forming the Negeri Sembilan state government after the alliance secured a two-thirds majority.

The result also ended PH's two-term administration in the state, with BN and PN combining their electoral strengths to wrest control of the state government.

The win further extends BN's recent electoral momentum following its dominant performance in the Johor state election, where the coalition captured 48 of the state's 56 seats.

Political analysts have also attributed BN-PN's success in Negeri Sembilan to the effectiveness of the "Malay Unity" narrative, which helped consolidate Malay votes by preventing multi-cornered contests between BN and PN.
