JOHOR BAHRU - Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Mohd Ghazali Sabari captured the Bukit Naning state seat with a comfortable majority of 3,610 votes in a five-cornered contest, which also saw the independent candidate outperforming Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama).
According to the official election results, Ghazali garnered 9,174 votes to beat his closest challenger, Md Ysahrudin of Pakatan Harapan (PH), who obtained 5,564 votes.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Mohd Radzi Bin Amin came in third after securing 1,896 votes.
Independent candidate Jeghanaathan, who campaigned under the elephant symbol, received 586 votes to take fourth place, while Bersama candidate Iskandar Md Alias finished last after managing only 138 votes.
