Just only a week ago, on 23 April 2026, Negeri Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir said in his royal address at the opening of the state legislative assembly sitting reportedly cautioned office bearers of high positions must not be driven by personal desires or emotions in their actions and decisions.
While not naming any individuals, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir said his message was directed particularly at those entrusted with high positions, which come with significant responsibilities and obligations.
It is a clear signal from Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir that he remained in office and that the present administration would carry on i.e the priority is state stability, governmental continuity and respect for constitutional order.
Thus, did Negeri Sembilan UMNO committed `derhaka’ against Negeri Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir who only few days ago, warned those entrusted with high positions in the state that the priority is state stability, governmental continuity and respect for constitutional order, when they announced on 27 April 2026 they are withdrawing their support for the present administration helmed by Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun?
Isnt this a more serious issue than what Selangor PAS Youth and Selangor BN have accused the Seri Kembangan assemblyperson of recently?
Why the double standard and hypocrisy?
If what the chairperson of Negeri Sembilan UMNO cited they want a stable government so that it can play the best possible role in the administration of the state while also being able to focus on the objectives of the well-being of the state’s people and economy, why withdraw their support now?
When the ordinary rakyat are already grappling with the rising costs in petrol and diesel and the accompanying hike in costs of other daily necessities, this claim and assertion that Negeri Sembilan UMNO prioritise the well-being of the state’s people sounds so hypocritical.
Negeri Sembilan UMNO is placing their bet that they can take assume governing the state by getting the support from the opposition MPs without the need for an election to be held in the state.
The present Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun should be reminded that majority of the ordinary rakyat have been disgusted and fed up with the musical chairs being played by the politicians amongst themselves without due regard to the electoral process.
Starting with the events in Feb 2020 also known as the `Sheraton Move’, the ordinary rakyat already felt that their votes don’t count.
Regardless of how the ordinary rakyat voted, the politicians have shown total disregard to their votes and instead would manipulate the and form their own political landscape outside of what they claimed to represent by their own respective manifesto.
This latest move by Negeri Sembilan UMNO is a clear case.
Instead of `caving in’ to the games being played by Negeri Sembilan UMNO, the present Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun could well dissolve the present assembly and call for an election for Negeri Sembilan.
The ordinary rakyat DOES NOT want a government that is not voted on by them.
Return the mandate to the people to decide.
If the Negeri Sembilan UMNO chapter believes they have the support of the people, they should support and insist for an election to be held for the state to determine who should be the government of the day and not by manipulating and copying the Sheraton move in seizing control of the government.
On a separate note, is this present move a tit for tat against the Negeri Sembilan palace whom in 2018, the Negeri Sembilan ruler Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir revoked the ‘Datuk Seri’ titles conferred on scandal-ridden former prime minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor, saying the move was needed to safeguard the dignity of the royal institution?
