The ordinary rakyat is grateful to the Yang di Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan for NOT succumbing to the greed and antics of the politicians.
According to the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, he said he informed the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, about the current position of the assemblymen who supported him and his Majesty ordered that the current administration continue as usual even though though 14 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen withdrew their support for him.
Those 14 assemblymen from UMNO and Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) five assemblymen giving the bloc a combined 19 seats in the 36-member Negeri Sembilan state legislative assembly thought and believed that they have the numbers to form a new state government.
Hail Tuanku, you have shown those greedy politicians not to take the ordinary rakyat for fools with their political games.
They did this in Feb 2020 and in Aug 2021.
On both occassions, politicians from different coalitions, whose coalition did not obtain any voting majority from the ordinary voters and ended up as losers per se just shift allegiance and form their own governing coalition without due regard to the voters and the electoral process.
That is not putting the interests of the ordinary rakyat above theirs.
To the ordinary rakyat, it is the politicians, regardless of whichever coalition they are in, putting their own personal interests above all else, including the country’s interests.
Shame to all these politicians for their political machinations solely to fulfil their personal and self greed for power.
Tuanku, in his wisdom obviously knew that yes, a minority government can govern in Malaysian states especially in a political deadlock or hung assembly.
It is called a minority government.
A government formed by a party/coalition that does not have the simple majority of seats in the State Assembly.
While the state Constitution is silent on the minority government option, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan can, at his own discretion, agree for the leader of the present government to continue leading the state.
As the Yang di Pertuan Besar is aware, based on reports from March and April 2026, Malaysia is experiencing significant economic strain described as a "crisis mode" due to the fallout from the US-Israeli war on Iran.
The conflict has caused a severe energy crisis, disrupted supply chains, and triggered inflation.
The Federal government has announced "crisis mode" measures, including, but not limited to, encouraging Work From Home (WFH) to reduce fuel consumption, setting government air-conditioners to 24°C, and cancelling government Hari Raya open houses.
Supply chain disruptions have caused a spike in the cost of goods, particularly fertilizers, which threaten to raise food prices, impacting Malaysia's overall food security.
While Malaysia is a net energy exporter, the prolonged nature of the conflict is placing pressure on the ringgit and creating logistical challenges for industries.
In the face of all these external pressures which are beyond the control of the Federal government and the country, it is hyprocritical that these self serving politicians from UMNO and PN deem it fit to put further strain on the lives of the ordinary rakyat with their greedy grab for power.
Majority of the ordinary rakyat sincerely hopes the Yang di Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan hold fast and firm in his decision.
Don't let the ordinary rakyat who are already suffering from further suffering due to the greed and selfishness of the politicians.
Shame on all these politicians.
None of them are for the ordinary rakyat.
