
Paralympian Angel Otom splashed her way to the gold medal at the 13th ASEAN Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand Wednesday.Otom topped the women’s 50m backstroke (S4–S5) as she covered the distance in 47.29 seconds at His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary Stadium Aquatic Center, raising the country's gold medal haul in the biennial meet to three.Swimmers Gary Bejino and Ernie Gawilan delivered the first two golds for the Philippines.Bejino took the first gold after ruling the men's 400m freestyle S6, clocking a record time of 5:32.08.Bejino bested the previous meet standard of 5:38.26 that he established at the 2023 edition in Cambodia.Meanwhile, 3-time Paralympian Gawilan reigned supreme at the 400m freestyle S7 after posting a time of 5:02.39
