MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang on Wednesday urged Filipinos who are experiencing drought to prepare their buckets as Super Typhoon Rosal was expected to dump rain in some areas in Luzon and Visayas.
In a press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Rosal’s rainfall could present an opportunity for Filipinos to collect rain water to prepare for the effects of a super El Niño.
Malacañang previously received flak for encouraging the public to collect rain water as a measure to prepare for the potential water shortage.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development is set to release water filtration kits to help make collected rain water drinkable.
