The Nurpur police have arrested a Pathankot man in a case of theft in a house at Kushinagar near Nurpur. The police after scrutinising CCTV camera footage had identified him and launched a massive hunt to arrest him. A police team arrested Pawan Kumar, a resident of Jugial in Shahpur Kandi of Pathankot district, on Friday evening. Pawan had allegedly broken into the house of Anupam Guleria, wife of Bhaskar Singh, on May 5 and decamped with gold and silver jewellery and cash kept in the cupboard. The police had registered a case under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
SP, Nurpur, Kulbhushan Verma said a preliminary investigation revealed the accused was a habitual thieve and had been involved in multiple theft cases in the state and Punjab.
