Khalsa College, Patiala — managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Sri Amritsar Sahib — has achieved another historic milestone. Six of the college’s outstanding athletes have been conferred with the Punjab Government’s highest sports honour, the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award.

The prestigious award was presented to handball players Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Kaur, Karamjeet Singh and Banita Sharma, alongside archers Sangampreet Singh Bisla and Prabhjot Kaur. In addition, the college’s star archer and international medallist, Parneet Kaur — who has brought laurels to the country at both the World Cup and the Asian Games — was honoured by the Punjab Government with a special cash prize.

Congratulating the students and coaches, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said: “This award is a testament to the dedication of our students and the visionary guidance of our institution. The Shiromani Committee remains deeply committed to ensuring our youth excel in both academics and sports. Khalsa College has consistently produced world-class athletes, making the entire region of Punjab incredibly proud.”
