PBS to remain with GRS, says Joachim

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) will remain with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in supporting the stability of the State Government while continuing to speak up on Sabah’s interests, said its Acting President Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam (pic). He said PBS would remain a loyal, constructive and principled partner within GRS while maintaining its identity and positions on issues including MA63, rural development, education, the economy and employment opportunities.

Joachim said PBS would continue pursuing Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement through the constitutional framework and negotiation process, noting that 13 of the 29 matters discussed through the official MA63 platform had been fully resolved.

He said PBS would cooperate with the State and Federal governments when such cooperation benefited Sabah, but would continue to state its position when Sabah’s interests and rights needed to be defended.

Joachim also said PBS needed to transform by digitalising its operations, developing a new generation of leaders, strengthening its think tank and offering policy solutions on issues including MA63, the economy, education, employment, cost of living, rural development and technology.
