TAWAU: Police have arrested a 32-year-old physiotherapist for allegedly making criminal threats against a female colleague at a physiotherapy centre in Jalan Kabota here.
Acting district police chief Supt Wilynton Enchana Watt said the arrest followed a report lodged by a 20-year-old woman claiming she was threatened following a workplace dispute last month.
A team from the District Criminal Investigation Division subsequently tracked down the suspect and picked him up by the roadside at the Leeka Industrial Park to facilitate investigations.
According to the complainant, the suspect had allegedly threatened to slap and beat her, and later expressed an intention to assault her even after both were called to discuss the matter at their employer's office.
Wilynton said the suspect, who has no prior criminal record, is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
